Yom Kippur
Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, occurs on the 10th of Tishri (September - October). In Yom Kippur, God cleans you from all your sins against him. People are supposed to fast and not work. It is probably the most important holiday in the Jewish Calendar. In between Rosh Ha - shanah and Yom Kippur, Jews try to put wrong things in their life right. The people leading the service in the synagogue wear white clothes. If you have committed a sin toward someone, you have to apologize to them before seeking God’s forgiveness. You also make a firm commitment to never do the same bad thing again. No bathing or leather shoes are allowed on Yom Kippur.
